(almost live) blogging the l.a. democratic debate

here's a sampling of the very esoteric debates my housemates and i engaged in while watching ol' hil and 'bama be civil and repetitive on the telly. all 'quotes' are actually paraphrased and from my (admittedly weak) short term memory. hey, don't be pissed: at least i'm not mean like wolf.

anna: do native americans have the right to vote? they're a sovereign nation, right? me: huh, i don't know
deb: wait, but our policies affect them, and there's a federal bureau dedicated to issues pertaining to them
anna: we would know if native americans couldn't vote, right?
me: oh god, hopefully yes. otherwise ap us history served me very poorly. shout out to the reconstruction era (my favorite)!
deb: fo' shizzle.

what started off this very intense examination of civil rights issues in the us which ended in unanimous agreement of the greatness of our nation? hillary was wearing turquoise. so, ya, we were talking about fashion. which is all women really care about in this race.

we all agreed that both candidates were *much* nicer to each other, though long-winded and ultimately trying to focus on the nasty republicans who we will have to fend off in november. what would make this all much more interesting?? *whiskey*! and what inevitably follows indulging in redeye (those campaign dollars have to go to ads, kids, not quality whiskey)? *makeout sesh*! the mood was just right...'bama even pulled out hil's chair for her! and they were *very* close while shaking hands at the end.

they're soooo cute together.

i'm thinking of liveblogging the actual presidential debates. thoughts? i know you want political commentary from me.
